Oscillating between genres, boldly mixing the codes of porn, music videos, and nature documentaries, Bees Do It offers a rhythmic and comically absurd vision of pornography, infused with humour and poetry.

Pulsing to beats typical of 1990’s porn, the film intrigues as much as it questions: is the man on screen offering himself to the viewer’s desire, or are we witnessing a voyeuristic representation of his own desire? As in an inverse mirror, the raw images of this man are reflected by the flowers that languidly bloom, evocative of female desire. Unless of course, this man, rendered universal by anonymity, playing with his "vibrating bee," is himself just another pretty flower in the garden of delights?

With this small cinematic UFO, as tender as it is explicit, Franck de B questions our representations of desire, leaving it up to each viewer to construct their own answers.
