CONTEMPORARY PORNOGRAPHIC WRITINGS STORYTELLING AND SOCIAL CHANGE THROUGH THE IMAGINARY
Cinema, as a visual language, has always played a central role in how societies tell their stories, understand themselves, and evolve.
With the democratization of production tools—smartphones and other accessible equipment—there has been an explosion of content, allowing anyone to become the author of their own narrative.
In a world where access to pornography has never been easier, and where platforms host millions of hours of free content—often criticized for reinforcing gender-based violence—narrative dynamics are undergoing deep transformations.
This roundtable will explore so-called "alternative" narrative forms to better understand the creative and social issues they engage with, and the shifts they bring about.
By examining storytelling as a vector for social transformation, we’ll explore the role of the imaginary and cultural lenses in shaping new worlds, new voices, and new perspectives.
How do these narratives influence the way we perceive others, project fantasies onto them, or construct our own identities? What narrative tools do filmmakers use to challenge stereotypes and shift mindsets?
