Featuring: aurore morillon (Porn Process), Laurent Tenzer (Cinema Nova & ABC archives), Lazare Lazarus et Lupa (Mémoire des sexualités), Marilyn Jess, Guillaume Le Disez (Pulse Editions)
Moderated by Magali Michaux.
This round table will be presented in French.
Between political and historical issues, the question of archives is crucial for minority groups and marginalized subcultures. When it comes to sexual cultures and non-standard identities, what narratives do pornography, past and present, convey?
As a community tool for queer sexual emancipation, porn is a process whose archiving is not just a memory, but an open door to collective and powerful horizons. aurore morillon will talk about her current work on the Porn Process archives, while Lazare Lazarus and Lupa will share the dynamics behind their film Les Fantômes du Hard (screened during BxlPFF) and their commitment to the Mémoire des sexualités center in Marseille. Laurent Tenzer will discuss the emergence of this industry in the early 70s, before it was relegated from collective viewing in cinemas to individual, private use. Finally, Marilyn Jess, a porn actress from 1977 to 1986, and publisher Guillaume Le Disez will talk about their collaboration in safeguarding and disseminating both Marilyn's unpublished career and the traces of the industry in France during this period.
